The Chicago Fire will look to end their two-match skid when they host CF Montreal on Saturday at Soldier Field.
The Fire (8-12-6, 30 points) have dropped their past two matches, 4-1 at the Philadelphia Union and 2-0 to NYCFC at SeatGeek Stadium. Chicago's recent slide has moved them outside of a playoff spot and down into 12th place in the Eastern Conference.
The Fire will play their first match since they announced Gaston Gimenez will miss the rest of the season after a hamstring surgery. Chicago manager Ezra Hendrickson said earlier this week that Jairo Torres is a candidate to fill in for Gimenez.
Philadelphia and NYCFC are first and third, respectively in the East. Chicago will face another tough opponent in Montreal (14-8-4), which is second in the East. Montreal is riding a seven-match unbeaten streak (5-2-0) and has won three of its past four matches.
