Last night was excellent here at On Tap Bets. It was only a 2-1 slate, but I went 21-9 with spreads and totals on Tallysight. There’s a lot of NBA and college basketball action tonight, but I’ll keep it brief with my favorites. Let’s dive in.

College Basketball Picks

Gardner-Webb -8 (-110)

Gardner-Webb enters this game coming off three straight losses. North Carolina Central hasn’t played much better, with a 4-7 record. Gardner-Webb beat this team 83-58 in late November. Typically, it’s difficult to beat a team twice or by as many points the second time around. However, Gardner-Webb is a much better team.

They’ve struggled over their last three games, but this feels like a get-right spot over an opponent they’ve already taken out to the woodshed. If they were rolling coming into this game, I’d feel worse about it. Coming off three straight losses, the Bulldogs have no right to take this team lightly, as they can’t afford another loss. Gardner-Webb ranks 207th in KenPom’s rankings, while the Eagles rank 343rd out of 358 teams. Lay the points with G-Webb. I’d play it to -9.

Florida Atlantic @ VCU Under 133.5 (-112 on FanDuel)

The Florida Atlantic Owls and VCU Rams come into this game with identical 6-4 records. They are also both riding three-game winning streaks. The Owls can undoubtedly shoot the ball, ranking 75th with a 36.36 percent three-point field goal percentage. However, the Rams are the best in the nation defending the three-ball. Opponents have shot only 24.1 percent from deep against them.

VCU is the more battle-tested team. The Rams have played the 49th-most difficult schedule, according to KenPom. FAU has played one of the weakest schedules in college basketball so far. In KenPom’s rankings, they are listed as playing the sixth-weakest schedule and second-weakest schedule for opposing defenses. In other words, their 79.5 points per game is a tad misleading.

FAU is in for a treat tonight against the Rams, who are the fourth-best in adjusted defensive efficiency and only allow 57.8 points per game. The spread is a little high, but I like the Under quite a bit. I’d play it to 131.5.

NBA Parlay

Rudy Gobert Double Double/Utah To Win + Jonas Valanciunas Double Double + Cleveland Cavaliers ML (+172 on FanDuel)

How about a favorable plus-money parlay to wet your whistle? Gobert averages 15.1 points and 14.6 rebounds per game. It’s more likely that he gets a double-double than he doesn’t. Also, the Jazz have won seven straight games and get the Los Angeles Clippers tonight. Even if Paul George plays, he hasn’t taken the court since December 6, so there may be some rust.

Valanciunas has averaged 18.7 points and 11.9 rebounds per game. He has a double-double in each of his last five and nine of his last 10 games played. It’s the same situation as Gobert. It’s more likely he gets it than he doesn’t.

The Cavs are a feisty young team. They’ve won four straight games and now find themselves in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings. They play a home game against the 9-18 Houston Rockets tonight. I expect them to stay hot and at least win the game. Combining these factors, you get a healthy +172 on FanDuel. Let’s ride.

Good luck, and let’s win some cash. Follow me on Twitter @Theriot326 for more picks.
