3 Chicago Steel Players Make 2022 NHL Central Scouting Midseason Watch List

Three current Chicago Steel players made the NHL Central Scouting midseason watch list for the 2022 NHL Draft, which was released Wednesday.

Forwards Nick Moldenhauer (uncommitted) and Zam Plante (Minnesota Duluth), and defenseman Jake Livanavage (North Dakota) each received B ratings as second- or third-round candidates in 2022.

Moldenhauer has scored 12 points (seven goals, five assists) in 15 USHL games this season.

Plante has seven points (four goals, three assists) in 17 USHL games and six points (four goals, two assists) in seven games for Hermantown High School in Minnesota. The Minnesota Duluth commit is the son of Bulldogs associate head coach Derek Plante, who played and served as a development coach for the Blackhawks.

Livanavage leads all Steel defensemen in assists (25) and scoring (27) in 31 games this season. He also ranks third among all USHL defensemen in assists and fifth in scoring.

The Steel had eight players selected in the NHL Draft for a second straight year in 2021. Chicago's 2021 class was highlighted by top overall pick Owen Power and two other first-rounders in Matt Coronato and Mackie Samoskevich.
