There will be 11 former Notre Dame players active for the NFL's slate of Thanksgiving games this week.
Each of the three games will feature former Irish players, including on both sides in the opener when the Chicago Bears visit the Detroit Lions. Cole Kmet and Sam Mustipher hold major roles for the Bears, while Alex Bars could see the time in a reverse role. On the other side, Scott Daly, Jalen Elliott, Tommy Kraemer, and Julian Okwara are all active for the Lions. Daly is Detroit's starting long snapper, and the other three have backup roles at safety (Elliott), guard (Kraemer), and linebacker (Okwara). Kraemer and Okwara each have the player listed ahead of them on the Lions' depth chart as questionable.
In the second game, Zack Martin will anchor the Dallas Cowboys' offensive line. Nick Martin could see time in a backup role for the visiting Las Vegas Raiders.
The nightcap will have two former Irish players, but neither one is expected to play as third-string players at their respective positions. Ian Book is behind Trevor Siemian and Taysom Hill, while Tony Jones Jr. is behind Alvin Kamara and Mark Ingram. The Saints' top two running backs, however, are listed as questionable.
