The finale of Dexter has bugged me to this day, and I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels that way. The hit Showtime series starring Michael C. Hall is finally set to return after its eighth season ended eight years ago. The ninth season will be a continuation of the original series.
Dexter is one of my favorite shows, but the final few seasons and series finale seriously hurt what was an amazing first four seasons when Clyde Phillips was Dexter's showrunner. Luckily, Clyde Phillips is returning to his previous capacity for season nine after previously stepping down following season four. Season nine will reportedly feature ten episodes that will air in the fall of 2021.
In what has been a rough 2020, it was nice to get some good news that I never expected would happen. I understand the frustration with how Dexter ended, but I think even the biggest critics should give season nine a chance. I have a feeling we will see some vintage, edge-of-your-seat viewings next fall.
