Hard rock heavyweights AC/DC are back just in time to salvage 2020. The group has not released new music since 2014's 'Rock Or Bust', but that is about to change.
Exactly one week ago, the band's social media accounts started dropping video clips containing cryptic teasers. Fans clamored about the possibility of new music on the way. That speculation was confirmed on the final day of September when AC/DC officially announced that a new album titled 'PWR UP' is on the way.
Fans won't have to wait long to get a taste of the new music. This morning, the band announced via social media that the first single from the upcoming album will drop on Wednesday.
While the confirmation video only contains instrumental elements of the song, a longer preview clip was released a few days earlier as part of the buildup.
Though the clip is only 30 seconds in length, it brings back those classic AC/DC vibes that fans know and love — a strong but simple drum and bass backbone, ringing rhythm guitar chords, bouncy riffs from lead guitarist Angus Young, and Brian Johnson's rugged vocals.
While the band members continue to climb in age, their playing style remains timeless. Wednesday can't come soon enough.
