Chicago Red Stars Lose Assistant Coach Julianne Sitch
The Chicago Red Stars announced that assistant coach, Julianne Sitch, is joining the University of Chicago. She is taking over as the head coach for the men’s soccer team.
"The Red Stars have always been a special place to me. I feel very fortunate to not only have represented the crest as a player but as a coach too. I have enjoyed my time working with the players and staff over the past seasons."

Sitch has been a part of the coaching staff since 2019, serving as an assistant coach for the first team and head coach for the Red Stars Reserves.

In her first year coaching the reserves, the team finished in first place in the WPSL's Lake Michigan Conference with seven wins, one loss, and two draws, bringing a total of 23 points for the 2021 season.

This will be the Oswego, Illinois native’s second stint with the Maroons. She was the assistant coach for the women’s soccer team from 2015 to 2017 and again in 2019. She helped the Maroons reach the NCAA Final Four in back-to-back years in 2016 and 2017.
With the departure of Julianne Sitch, the club will continue to prepare for their next matchup against the Kansas City Current on Sunday, April 24.
