The Chicago Red Stars announced Monday afternoon that defender Tierna Davidson suffered a torn ACL last week during training. As a result, she will miss the remainder of the season.
The 23-year-old defender was the youngest member of USA’s 2019 World Cup team. Last season, Davidson had 120 clearances while starting in 20 matches for Chicago.
It will be up to Bianca St-Georges, Kayla Sharples, Zoe Morse, and Tatum Milazzo to step up on defense in Tierna Davidson’s absence.
Just two games into the 2022 campaign, the Red Stars are 1-1-0 in NWSL Challenge Cup action. They defeated the Houston Dash in their season opener before dropping their first home match to the KC Current Saturday night.
