BREAKING: White Sox Sign Edwin Encarnación
Per Jeff Passan, the Sox have made another splash with home run masher, Edwin Encarnación. This was originally confirmed by Yancen Pujols. This is a one-year deal for $12 million with a club option for 2021.
263 home runs in eight seasons is exquisite, 34 of which he had last season. Edwin still has the "IT" factor with no sign of regression. Yes, he’s a typical DH/1B, so this probably makes Zack Collins expendable via trade or option to triple-A.
I absolutely love this move. The Sox need homers. The best teams in the MLB that advance through the playoffs hit home runs and have durable pitching. This is a win-now move, and the Sox are showing it.

Good for them. If they add another bat and reliever, this team wins the A.L. Central.
