The Chicago White Sox made three roster moves Monday afternoon ahead of a three-game series against the Minnesota Twins. Outfielder Luis Robert will return to the team after suffering a torn right hip flexor in early May. Before Robert went down, he slashed .316/.359/.461 with one home run and eight RBIs across 25 games.

In a corresponding move, the club optioned Gavin Sheets to Triple-A Charlotte. The left-handed hitter got the call to the big-league club on June 29 and made quite an impression. In Sheets' first 10 games in the majors, he slashed .273/.375/.636 with three home runs and nine RBIs. Sheets cooled off significantly after his hot start and currently owns a slash line of .225/.293/.483. He has six total home runs on the year and 16 RBIs.

To make room on the 40-man roster, the White Sox released outfielder Luis Gonzalez, who is scheduled to receive season-ending shoulder surgery. In 40 games with the Charlotte Knights, Gonzalez is slashing .241/.352/.423 with hit seven home runs and 20 RBIs.
