As the American League Central race heats up, national media is taking notice. When the Chicago White Sox host the Minnesota Twins for a crucial series in a few weeks, the Saturday, Sept. 3 game will air exclusively on FOX. First pitch will be at 6:15 PM CT.
The contest was originally scheduled to air on NBC Sports Chicago at 6:10 PM CT. Now, White Sox' and Twins' regional networks will not carry the game as it is a full national broadcast.
In 10 head-to-head meetings this season, the White Sox are 4-6 against the Twins. The AL Central foes last met for a four-game series to close out the first half of the schedule. The South Siders dominated that set by taking three of four at Target Field.
The Sept. 1-3 series marks the first of three sets between the two teams remaining on the 2022 schedule. The White Sox visit the Twins from Sept. 27-29 before closing the season against them at home from Oct. 3-5.
All of the upcoming meetings figure to have major playoff implications. Entering play Wednesday, the Chicago White Sox and Minnesota Twins are one game back of both first place in the AL Central and the final AL Wild Card spot.
