White Sox Promotional Schedule 2022

While MLB owners and players still haven't reached an agreement on a new CBA to end the lockout, there was some optimism and excitement in this corner of the baseball world Thursday morning. The Chicago White Sox announced their promotional schedule for the 2022 season. All dates are tentative and are based on a standard 162-game season.

White Sox 2022 Giveaways

Year after year, the White Sox continue to kill it with their giveaways, implementing some old and some new ideas.

On Opening Day (Thursday, March 31 vs. Minnesota, 3:10 PM), fans will receive a 2021 AL Central Division Champions pennant.

Opening weekend closes out with a White Sox crewneck sweater giveaway for the series finale (Sunday, April 3 vs. Minnesota, 1:10 PM).

The most unique giveaway of the year is a "Southside" hockey jersey on Saturday,April 30 vs. the LA Angels (3:05 PM). This item plays nicely off the basketball jersey giveaway from last season. The hockey jersey design features the same lettering as the Sox City Edition uniforms that debuted in 2021.

Some of the previous years' items are back as well, such as the Hawaiian shirt (Saturday, June 11 vs. Texas, 1:10 PM). The 2022 design has a blue base with red '70s throwback Sox logos, pizza slices, Chicago flag stars, and Hawaiian flowers.

The only other design preview the schedule contains as of now is the Los White Sox soccer jersey (Sunday, Sept. 4 vs. Minnesota, 1:10 PM). After featuring white, black, and red bases in years past, the 2022 edition is a blue base with red and white accents on the sleeves.

As always, there will also be bobblehead giveaways, four to be exact. Due to the lockout, the White Sox (and all MLB clubs) aren't promoting the likeness of current players, so we don't know which South Siders will be the bobblehead characters. But the giveaway dates are as follows:

  • Player Bobblehead 1: Saturday, April 16 vs. Tampa Bay, 1:10 PM
  • Player Bobblehead 2: Saturday, May 14 vs. NY Yankees, 6:10 PM
  • Player Bobblehead 3: Monday, July 4 vs. Minnesota, 7:10 PM
  • Player Bobblehead 4: Saturday, July 23 vs. Cleveland, 6:15 PM

Furthermore, t-shirt giveaways will return in 2022, but on a less frequent basis. The White Sox featured "Free T-Shirt Thursdays" in years past but will now pivot to a "Summer T-Shirt Series." There are three dates currently listed, all of which are Thursday day games:

  • Summer T-Shirt Series 1: Thursday, June 9 vs. LA Dodgers, 1:10 PM
  • Summer T-Shirt Series 2: Thursday, Aug. 18 vs. Houston, 1:10 PM
  • Summer T-Shirt Series 3: Thursday, Sept. 1 vs. Kansas City, 1:10 PM

No design previews are available yet, so stay tuned.

The other giveaway is another recurring item, the White Sox tote bag. The 2022 edition (no preview available) will make its way into fans' hands on Tuesday, Aug. 2 vs. Kansas City, 7:10 PM.

White Sox 2022 Theme Nights

The White Sox will continue the tradition of various theme nights based on music. Those dates are as follows:

  • Rock 'n' Roll Night: Friday, May 13 vs. NY Yankees, 7:10 PM
  • Country Music Night: Friday, July 8 vs. Detroit, 7:10 PM
  • Elvis Night: Friday, August 26 vs. Arizona, 7:10 PM

For the community, Police and Fire Night will be Wednesday, Aug. 17 vs. Houston (7:10 PM) and Hispanic Heritage Night takes place on Friday, Sept. 23 vs. Detroit (7:10 PM).

Furthermore, the White Sox 2022 promo schedule will feature 13 Family Sundays and seven Post-Game Fireworks nights.

Other Notes

One of the notable omissions is Dollar Dog Night. The White Sox also left this off the slate this last year, supposedly due to COVID-19, but it is missing yet again.

Beyond exciting baseball on the diamond, fans will have plenty of reasons to come out to Guaranteed Rate Field in 2022.
