Just like the tweet above this says, "No surprise here!" White Sox starting pitcher Lucas Giolito has been named a finalist for the American League Comeback Player of the Year Award. This past offseason, Lucas went back to the basics and started working with his high school pitching coach, Ethan Katz.

The transformation of Lucas from being one of the worst starting pitchers in all of the MLB to one of the best is a true testament to the hard work he put in.

The numbers above tell a story of redemption. At one time, Giolito was a top-three prospect in all of baseball. Many fans were quick to pull the trigger and call him a "bust" after his dreadful 2018 campaign. Giolito ranked fifth this year in K/9, tied for first with two complete-game shutouts, and set a career-high in strikeouts with 228. Also, in the month of May, he was named the American League Pitcher of the Month. Lucas was also a first-time American League All-Star.

It's safe to say that Lucas has ACE potential and his performance in 2019 truly displayed that.
