The Chicago White Sox are currently 3.5 games back of first place in the AL Central. They trail the Cleveland Guardians and the Minnesota Twins in the standings as play opens on Saturday, Aug. 20. BetMGM shared its World Series Winner odds via the MLB Twitter account Saturday morning, and it had quite the surprise.

Yep, you saw that correctly. The White Sox are currently tied with the Tampa Bay Rays with +4000 odds to take home the 2022 World Series trophy. Both of their Central Division rivals have worse championship odds. The Guardians currently are +5000, and the Twins are further behind them at +6600.

Despite the Chicago White Sox' current three-game losing streak, during which they have lost games in embarrassing and heartbreaking fashion, somehow the oddsmakers still believe the South Siders have the best chance of coming out of the AL Central and competing for the title.
