The Chicago White Sox are gearing up for a twin bill against the Kansas City Royals. As expected, South Siders added Davis Martin as their 27th player and announced he will start Game 2 of Tuesday's doubleheader.

Martin has already made three spot starts -- and four relief appearances -- for the Chicago White Sox this season. The 25-year-old made his MLB debut in Kansas City on May 17 but suffered a loss despite tossing five innings of one-run ball with seven strikeouts.

In 30.1 innings at the MLB level, Martin has a 4.75 ERA, 1.286 WHIP, and 23 strikeouts. At Triple-A Charlotte, he touts a 5-4 record, 4.20 ERA, and 1.23 WHIP with 84 strikeouts in 64.1 innings across 14 games (all starts).
