In Dylan Cease's first Major League Start, White Sox fans flooded the stadium to see one of their top prospects pitch. Boy, did they get a treat or what?
After all of the Ervin Santana, Odrisamer Despaigne, and "Bullpen starts" it was nice to see a key piece of the future come up and show the team what he could do. Though Dylan struggled in the first inning throwing 31 pitches, he regained composure and helped lead the Southsiders to a victory.
The offense picked him up after Dylan allowed two runs in the first inning and the team never looked back, beating the Detroit Tigers 7-5 in Game 1 of the doubleheader. It's just one start from Cease but his fastball and breaking ball look nasty. This kid is going to be fun to watch.
The White Sox optioned Carson Fulmer last night after the pair of victories in the doubleheader, meaning Cease is here to stay.
