Eloy Jimenez Likely to Sit Out Cubs Series with Mid-Foot Sprain
In a bit of shocking news for the White Sox, their star left-fielder, Eloy Jimenez, has a mid-foot sprain, according to Sox beat writers.
Jimenez appeared to jam his foot when sliding into home plate in the seventh inning of last night's series finale against the Cleveland Indians.
He will likely sit for the entire Cubs series in order to heal for the playoffs. More than likely, this is not as serious of an injury and the White Sox are just being careful. There will likely be a further update on his status following the regular-season finale on Sunday. Adam Engel will take Jimenez's in the White Sox lineup tonight.
