Billy Hamilton has unpacked his gear at his new home in the Seattle Mariners clubhouse. The Mariners have brought Hamilton in on a minor league deal. This deal is similar to what Hamilton signed with the White Sox in March of 2021.
Although he averaged a paltry .220, he also provided some memorable moments. On a rainy night in Kansas City, he made one of the best catches in all of MLB in 2021.
This and some other key moments, along with his affable personality, quickly made him a fan favorite.
The numbers don’t always tell the full story of a players impact. White Sox fans are well aware of the impact Hamilton can make coming off of the bench.
Fans at Guaranteed Rate Field may get a look at the 31-year-old journeyman if he makes the team out of Spring Training. The Mariners make their only trip to Chicago for a three-game set in April. I expect the fans in attendance will give Billy a warm welcome.
