Full MLB All-Star Rosters Announced, Featuring Three Familiar Faces

The White Sox will have three representatives in the Midsummer Classic.

In the middle of Sunday's rain delay in the rubber match between the White Sox and the Twins, the full rosters for the MLB All-Star Game were announced.

Lucas Giolito, James McCann, and Jose Abreu will be representing the White Sox. The three selections are the most the White Sox have had since 2014 when Jose Abreu, Alexei Ramirez, and Chris Sale all were selected.

This will be the first time that both Giolito and McCann will take part in the Midsummer Classic, and they both truly deserve the recognition. Entering Sunday's game, Giolito was tied for the league lead in wins at ten to go along with a 2.87 ERA and 111 strikeouts over 91 innings pitched. His battery-mate McCann has had a career year thus far as well by hitting .320/.378/.519 to go along with nine homers and 27 RBIs.

Jose Abreu was the most surprising of the three representatives but nonetheless will take part in his third career All-Star Game and his second in as many years. The power numbers are certainly there for Abreu, as he has hit 19 homers and driven in 60 runs so far this year. At this pace, he's set to surpass his previous career highs in those categories. However, his batting average of .262 and on-base percentage of .304 are both career lows that have been trending in the wrong direction over the past few years. With a deserving crop of AL first basemen, including snubs Luke Voit and C.J. Cron, the selection shows how highly regarded Abreu is around the league.

The game will take place on Tuesday July 9th in Cleveland. Congrats to James, Lucas, and Jose!
