It's officially Soxtober, and Goose Island is getting in the White Sox spirit. On Tuesday afternoon, the Chicago-based brewing company announced a new can design for its Sox Golden Ale.
The brew's standard matte black design will now have a complementary partner as Goose Island debuted a limited edition can featuring the 1983 'SOX' script font with blue and red accentuations splattered across a white backdrop.
As seen in the tweet above, Goose Island tabbed former South Side manager Ozzie Guillen to help promote the new can design.
"The last time the White Sox won the division was 13 years ago," the advertisement read. Of course, the visual of Guillen's jersey number served as the digits within the promotional message.
According to Goose Island's Twitter account, the throwback cans will only be available within the Chicagoland market.
