There is some good news to report on the Chicago White Sox' injury front. Luis Robert is back in the Sox' starting lineup for Saturday's game against the Cleveland Guardians. He will bat second and play center field.
The Cuban centerfielder has not started a game since injuring his wrist sliding into second base on August 12. Despite making a lone pinch-running appearance Wednesday against the Houston Astros, Robert's status has been day-to-day over the past week.
While it could serve to be too little, too late as the clock continues to wind down on the Chicago White Sox' season, it is at least encouraging to see the lineup include Luis Robert and Eloy Jimenez for Saturday's contest in Cleveland. The South Siders need all hands on deck down the stretch, especially after dropping the series opener and falling 3.5 games back in the AL Central.
Eloy Jimenez left Friday night's game in the eighth inning after feeling some discomfort in his right knee. Manager Tony La Russa initially said Jimenez was day-to-day, but he will serve as the DH and bat third Saturday.
