It was announced Monday evening that Luis Robert will begin a rehab assignment on Wednesday, July 21. To start his assignment, the Chicago White Sox center fielder will report to High-A Winston-Salem. Luis Robert has been out since May 2 after suffering a torn hip flexor.
Before sustaining the injury, Robert was enjoying a productive season at the plate. Robert was slashing .316/.359/.463. In 25 games, Robert hit one home run, nine doubles, drove in eight runs, and stole four bases. After a solid 2020, Robert was really finding his stride at the plate when the injury occurred.
Teammate Eloy Jimenez started his recent rehab assignment in Winston-Salem, appearing in two games. Soon after, Eloy was promoted to Triple-A Charlotte. Hopefully, Luis can make his way through the rehab assignment and join the White Sox sooner rather than later.
