Per Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the MLB has announced that the 2020 MLB Draft will take place on June 10th for picks 1-37 and June 11th for the remainder of the picks.

Additionally, teams will have to wait until June 14th to sign unsigned free agents for a maximum of $20,000.

The draft will air on MLB Network. Unfortunately for players who weren’t going to be drafted early in the draft, this response hurts them. Yes, they can sign for $20,000, but this can be exponentially less than what they would have received in a normal year. This hurts the players that tend to live off of their bonuses since minor league salaries are suppressed. That said, the draft will continue, so they have to make do with the current agreed-upon structure.
