White Sox Adam Engel Suffers Right Hamstring Strain

The White Sox outfielder is expected to be re-evaluated on Sunday. Engel was batting .286 this spring, looking like an everyday player for the Sox.

On Saturday, the Chicago White Sox took on the Cleveland Indians in a late spring training matchup. During the game, Adam Engel injured his right hamstring trying to make a running catch in shallow center field. Engel was immediately removed from the game, but walked off under his own power.

When the team was asked about the injury after the game, they confirmed that Engel suffered a right hamstring strain and will be re-evaulated on Sunday.

The 29-year-old outfielder has had an impressive spring. Engel was batting .286, with two doubles, a triple, three home runs and seven runs batted in.
