White Sox Call Up Prospect Romy González
Romy González has been ripping the cover off of the baseball at Triple-A Charlotte this year. The 24-year-old has slashed .275/.357/.525 and will be making his appearance on the Chicago White Sox roster for the first time.
Whether a corresponding move has been announced is yet to be seen, but it is very likely either Tim Anderson or Lucas Giolito get a temporary injury list stint with the White Sox lead in the American League Central.
Either way, González was the 18th-round pick for the White Sox in 2018. He could be a massive win for the White Sox player development team because he has always had raw power. With 20 homers at the beginning of the Double-A Birmingham season, González quickly earned himself a promotion to Triple-A and now to the big show.
