Just one day after landing on MLB's Team of the Month, Chicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks has been named the American League Reliever of the Month for May. This marks Hendrik's third time receiving this award.

Hendriks posted a record of 0-1 with an ERA of 0.00, 19 strikeouts, and eight saves over 11.2 innings in 13 appearances last month. On the season, Hendriks has pitched in 22 innings, struck out 36, walked three batters, and has only allowed five earned runs. Hendriks has 13 saves so far on the season.

Plus, we have this little nugget from the month of May. Hendriks is the first White Sox pitcher to close out both games of a doubleheader since Bobby Jenks. That's some pretty elite company right there.
