Per Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Chicago White Sox are exploring a trade for Eduardo Escobar of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Escobar first made his Major League Baseball debut for the White Sox in 2011. The 32-year-old currently has 15 home runs with a slash line of .240/.288/.455 during the 2021 season. However, he left Sunday's Diamondbacks' game with quadriceps tightness, so the White Sox will need to monitor that injury situation as they are currently exploring temporary replacements for second baseman Nick Madrigal and centerfielder Luis Robert, both of whom also experienced long-term soft tissue injuries.

After being swept in Houston this past weekend series, the White Sox will look to bounce back and improve on their American League Central division. They finally experienced hiccups in their starting rotation, which has been otherworldly for much of the season. With a depleted lineup, it makes sense to be exploring options that can play at an above-average level for the infield and outfield.
