As the context clues indicated yesterday, the White Sox have purchased the contract of Odrisamer Despaigne from AAA Charlotte and he will be starting for the South Siders when they open up a two-game series with the Nationals tonight.

The 32-year-old right-hander signed a minor-league deal with the club back on May 19th and has since appeared in four games for the Knights. His record sits at 0-1 where he has recorded a 2.00 ERA, 0.778 WHIP, 2.0 BB/9, and 8.0 K/9 through 18 innings of work. The White Sox will be Despaigne's fifth major league stop, as he last pitched in the big leagues for the Angels during the 2018 season. Over his career, he has posted a -2.9 WAR and 4.94 ERA over 349.2 innings in 106 games.

To make room for Despaigne on the roster, the White Sox placed LHP Jace Fry on the ten-day injured list with left shoulder soreness and released outfielder Nicky Delmonico, who had previously been sidelined for the year due to shoulder surgery.
