After broadcasting Olympic baseball and serving as the voice for Team USA's silver-medal finish in Tokyo, Chicago White Sox play-by-play man Jason Benetti will be out of the booth for the near future.

The team announced on Twitter that Benetti tested positive COVID-19 and will miss the team's upcoming games with no set return date.

The Chicagoland native took to Twitter to inform fans that he's mildly symptomatic and plans to be back soon. In true Benetti fashion, he also had a joke to go along with his update.

ESPN and ACC Network broadcaster Mike Monaco will serve as Benetti's substitute for the time being. Monaco is also the fill-in play-by-play man for the Boston Red Sox and NESN.

Media personnel and fans have shown their support for Benetti as he deals with mild symptoms of the virus and awaits the approval to rejoin Steve Stone in the TV booth.
