The Chicago White Sox announced four roster moves Saturday. The club placed Yoan Moncada on the injured list and Lance Lynn on the bereavement list and added two players. Leury Garcia rejoined the Sox following a brief rehab assignment and Davis Martin got the call from Triple-A Charlotte.
Yoan Moncada is on the shelf due to a strained left hamstring. The 27-year-old suffered the injury Thursday against the Baltimore Orioles. After making a nice run-through play on a bunt attempt in the second inning, he exited that contest in the fifth inning. Moncada's IL designation is retroactive to Aug. 26.
In Moncada's place, Leury Garcia returns from the IL and a one-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Charlotte. He had been out since Aug. 17 due to a lower back strain. Garcia went 1-for-4 with a single and two strikeouts in his lone tune-up contest with the Knights.
As Lance Lynn heads to the bereavement list, Davis Martin joins the Chicago White Sox' roster. Martin has a 4.25 ERA in 36 innings for the MLB club this season. He has also made 16 starts for Charlotte, where he has a 5-5 record and a 4.46 ERA across 72.2 innings.
