Seemingly out of nowhere, indie wrestling fan-favorite Danhausen made his first appearance on AEW.
During the main event Lights Out match between Adam Cole and Orange Cassidy, chaos reigned inside and outside of the ring. When the two men clashed on the outside, Adam Cole chose to seize an opportunity and inflict more damage to Orange Cassidy by way of a steel chair. Cole reached under the ring for said chair, but a very nice, very evil surprise was waiting for him.
Danhausen caused a distraction, waved to the crowd, and made his way up the ramp, receiving a well-deserved pop from those in attendance in Cleveland.
While sidelined with a broken leg for months, Danhausen has been present all over social media interacting with fellow AEW wrestlers, and even tweeting Tony Khan attempting to elicit a job from the boss. It turns out those efforts paid off for Danhausen and now he gets all the monies.
I am excited to see the many directions that AEW can go in utilizing Danhausen, and what ‘Holy Shit’ moments he can bring to the table. (Sorry, Danhausen, no swearing, please forgive me).
