Another week, another installment of AEW Dynamite in the books. Wednesday night's show brought about several battles, a new addition to the company, and plenty of drama, per usual. Let's get caught up on all the happenings.
Tag Team Battle Royale
A total of 10 Tag Teams are battling it out for the first spot in the Tag Team Championship match at Revolution. As with most Battle Royale's, it was a busy start to the match.
Early on, it seemed the Young Bucks and reDRagon were on the same page. But near the end of the match, the last full team left was FTR, until John Silver had something to say about that. The final teams were reDRagon, FTR, Young Bucks, and Dark Order. The winners were reDRagon when Kyle O'Reilly turned his back on Matt Jackson for the final elimination.
Following the Tag Team Battle Royale, Hangman Adam Page made his way to the ring to get some revenge. He attacked reDRagon while the Young Bucks just watched. This caused Adam Cole to come on out and try to make the save. But that just caused more issues for him.
Next up, we heard from Bryan Danielson about how Daniel Garcia needs to be more aggressive and needs better mentoring. Additionally, he announced he will have an answer for Jon Moxley.
An in-ring promo from MJF followed. It was all about his childhood and how he had a rough time growing up, even though people may think it was easy for him. It came down to the point that CM Punk was the one that helped him through all his rough times. He gave a young fan something to look forward to.
Then, he felt left behind when CM Punk left the industry. This dialogue seemed heartfelt to the fan base. It caused Punk to make his way to the ring to see how serious MFJ was and that's when he left the ring upset.
Kings Of The Black Throne vs. PAC & Penta El Zero
Before this match, we got a whole new side of Penta, all thanks to Malakai Black and his black mist from a few weeks ago. This time we saw Penta Oscuro, as the dark side of his career is now awoken. These four always make for a great matchup. This week's installment was nothing different and continued the story of this feud.
This time around, Penta stopped Malakai Black from spitting mist at him, causing him to choke before rolling him up for a win. But in following the match, Brody King and Malakai Black were upset at the loss and continued to attack their opponents. The lights went out and Buddy Matthews entered. It wouldn't be long before we saw where his allegiance stood. He joined in on the attack of PAC and Penta. Not only is Buddy Matthews "All Elite" but he is part of The House of Black. They continue to only get stronger week after week.
Face To Face Confrontation
Eddie Kingston and Chris Jericho met inside the ring in an attempt to talk everything out. But it's rather simple for Kingston; he does not walk to "talk". He is just looking to settle all of this by fighting and isn't worried about anything else. Jericho kept trying to provoke him by putting him down.
But it was announced these two will finally battle at Revolution, which will surely be an explosive match at the PPV.
Ricky Starks vs. Dark Order's 10
This was a qualifying match for a spot in the Face Of The Revolution Ladder Match. 10 had the early advantage due to his size. Could we see another big guy added to an already stacked Ladder match at the PPV?
It did seem like it would be that way for a bit. But Starks's experience and savvy helped him pull out the victory. Team Taz now has two members in the ladder match.
TBS Championship Match: The Bunny vs. Jade Cargill (C)
Was the Champion able to stay undefeated? Many expected that due to pure strength. The Bunny is no one to mess with, however. She has much more experience than Jade.
But to no surprise, Jade continued to show her growth and evolution in this company. She walked about still the TBS Champion, now with a 28-0 record. She also has a new Challenger for her TBS Championship as Tay Conti will face her at Revolution.
Main Event: Daniel Garcia vs. Bryan Danielson
This was a match that many fans have been waiting for. Garcia grew up watching and idolizing Danielson. The veteran Danielson had early control as expected. But Garcia was not scared and had counters for most of the moves thrown his way. He was able to show his opponent that he is built for all of this and ready for the big time. But in the end, he came up short and Danielson was able to secure the victory.
Following the match, Jon Moxley made his way to the ring to stop an attack from 2point0 and Danielson answered the call we have all been waiting for. Fans will now be spoiled at Revolution with the addition of Bryan Danielson vs. Jon Moxley.
