Last night's episode of AEW Rampage was firing on all cylinders. The build towards AEW Grand Slam week continued to be major on this episode too. Next week is a big week for both shows and a total of four hours of AEW on the TNT network.

AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Butcher & The Blade vs Lucha Brothers(C)

These two teams have plenty of history with each other in AEW. Both teams are undefeated this year and were facing off against each other for the Tag Team Championships. For the early part of this match up, the Lucha Bro's had most of the control with staying on their opponents with their speed and teamwork. After several minutes on the defense, The Butcher and The Blade got control when they were finally able to ground Penta and slow the match down a little bit. It seemed like the end was near when Penta tagged out to his brother and The Blade tied Penta's mask to the middle rope. The challengers were able to have a two-on-one beat down and seemed as if they were about to take the tag titles with no resistance. But, Penta sacrificed his mask to save his brother who ended up getting the pinfall for the win. Following the finish of the match, the rest of the Hardy Family Office came out to attack the Lucha Bro's. But, the long-time rivals Santana and Ortiz came out to save the Lucha Bro's.

Thoughts: This was a very solid opening contest for the episode. It showed off why everyone loves the Lucha Bro's style and fantastic teamwork. But, it also was a chance to show everyone the team of The Butcher and The Blade again who has missed some time this year but are a great team as well. They were able to show off their more dirty tactics to try and pull out this victory but still fall slightly short. A great showcase for both teams, but it ending with something I have never witnessed in Pro Wrestling with Penta taking off his mask to save his brother after he was tied to the middle rope.

But on the other side, Danielson wants to show that he is refreshed and ready to show that he is one of the best Pro Wrestlers in the world

The Bunny vs Anna Jay

With all the hatred these women have they started by fighting on the rampway before the match officially got started. Anna started with the control in this match-up till they ended up on the outside of the ring. This is where the Bunny took control using all the elements around her. She started to attack that inured shoulder of Anna by using the ring post and the barriers around the ring. Penelope Ford tried to interfere in this match but it ended up costing her teammate the match when Anna Jay pinned The Bunny with a simple schoolgirl pin.

Thoughts: This was a good match to continue the issues between these four women. The feud is not over for these four women and this was a great way to continue the story while getting Anna Jay back into the ring after her injury that kept her out for several months. There was a post-match beatdown by The Bunny and Penelope Ford that left them standing tall even in the loss.

Tony Schiavone is in the ring with a very upset Matt Hardy after his team went 0-2 on the night. He announces that all of those people will pay for what they did on the night. We get word that Anna Jay will face Penelope Ford next week. And we will also see an 8-man tag team match after what happened in that opening match. He is also still very annoyed at Orange Cassidy, so he drags a fan that is dressed up like Cassidy into the ring and attacks him and cuts off the fan's hair, and starts to shave his head. This prompted Orange Cassidy himself to make his way to the ring to stop them.

In-Ring Face to Face

We finally got to see the AEW Women's World Champion talking to her newest challenger one on one in the middle of the ring. Let's just say these two did not hold back on each other at all! Shots were fired during this whole meeting. This alone has built their match for next week as a major one to watch. Don't miss this one next week on Dynamite, they are going to tear the house down. Britt Baker tried to close this out by getting a slight upper hand but Ruby was able to avoid getting hit with the Championship.

TNT Championship Match: Fuego Del Sol vs Miro(C)

Can Fuego Del Sol keep his car and win the Championship? Early on in this one, it seemed like he had Miro's number again. He was able to get in some good offense, but they slowed down once the two ended up on the outside of the ring. Miro was able to gain control of the match with a major slam after catching him in the air. The rest of the match was controlled by the champion even in some small attempts to come back by the challenger. The match came to an end when Miro was sick of Fuego not stopping, so he laid him out with two kicks to the head.

Thoughts: Even though everyone know how this one would go it felt like maybe we could be wrong. Fuego held his own and lasted longer in this match than the first time around. This match was a very good showcase for both wrestlers. Miro had enough of Fuego and was very angry at him and attacked him after the match too. This caused Sammy Guevara to come out and save his best friend. Looks like we now know who Miro will be facing next!

The show overall had a good pace to it and great action. All the matches advanced stories for everyone involved and set up even more matches to come. The vignettes that were featured made people excited for those other matches next week and help you not to lose sight of them. The two highlights of the night were Ruby Soho and Britt Baker face to face. As well as Penta taking his mask off to save his brother and their tag team championships.
