It has been 2,763 days since the Second City Savior has stepped foot in a Pro Wrestling Ring. That all changed on the second episode of AEW Rampage at the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on Friday night. The Chicago native made his return to a world that has been looking for him to come back for the whole time he has been gone. Well, he is officially back and is now part of the AEW Roster.
Before the show, Tony Khan, President of AEW, had a major message to send. "I have no plans to disappoint anyone tonight," Khan said.
So far, this company has yet to disappoint its fans when it comes to announcements and secrets. Tonight was no different and the world of Pro Wrestling is officially changing again.
The last time CM Punk was in a wrestling ring was at Royal Rumble in 2014, and it wasn't a particularly good night for him. But now that he's back, what does the future hold inside an AEW Ring? Who will be some of his targets?
A few months back, he did mention how much he pays attention to what is going on with AEW's current product. Will we see him going to battle against some of the younger stars? He might mix it up with wrestlers from outside promotions like NJPW and IMPACT. There are so many dream matches we could be seeing over the next several months and years.
