These words will never ring more true after the terrible news that broke over the weekend, Jonathan Huber passed away at the age of 41. Shock and sadness ran through the professional wrestling industry on Saturday, December 26, 2020, when the news broke. In the hours following the news, so many peers shared their experiences and time spent with him over the years. With the outpouring of love and support from so many, it showed how loved and admired he was by every single person he worked with. As so many have stated, he was "One of the good ones". That does not mean he was just a wrestler, but he was a great friend, father, and husband too.
As a fan of wrestling for over 20 years, losing a legend is always difficult. We get attached to characters and learn so much about these people. I have always heard great things about him, and it showed over the last two days. I have followed his career very closely since his debut on the main roster of WWE during the summer of 2013. Being a fan of The Wyatt Family and seeing his growth was awesome, he was the first from the group to win a title on the main roster as well. He captured the Intercontinental Championship, but during his time with WWE, he went on to win the Smackdown Tag Team Championships a total of two times.
At the end of 2019, he was set free from WWE and it took a few months away before he made his return to wrestling. When he returned, it was with AEW and it was under the name of Brodie Lee, which he used before his career in WWE. His debut came on the March 18th show this year as the Exalted One of the Dark Order. During his time with the company, he started to show how talented he was to a larger audience. There were so many moments that fans talked about, whether that was his promo work or in-ring ability. His feud with Cody Rhodes was also an old school classic. That lead him to his TNT Championship run, even though it was it for him, it meant a lot.
As Jon would tell many before heading home for a few days, "Goodbye forever". Thank you for all the memories.
