As is tradition, AEW is returning to Chicago for its Thanksgiving slate of shows

Emanating from Wintrust Arena, Wednesday’s card is already jam-packed with some intriguing matchups with storylines old and new.

The Card

Opening the night with Chicago native CM Punk vs QT Marshall of the Nightmare Factory will surely have the traditionally raucous Chicago crowd hot and ready from the outset. With a potential feud between Punk and MJF currently in its infancy, this opening contest will be a great way to start the night.

In one of the matches I’m most excited for, Thunder Rosa vs Jamie Hayter is set to take place as a quarterfinals matchup in the TBS Championship Tournament. Thunder Rosa is a fan favorite and immensely talented in the ring. Hayter is a young star of tomorrow. I'm looking forward to an all out brawl in this one.

To keep the crowd in it, a four-on-four tag team bout pitting Cody Rhodes, Pac, and the Lucha Bros against Andrade, Malakai Black, and FTR has been slated. With recent bad blood from all corners of the squared circle, this eight-man tag match should be a banger. Every wrestler in this match is capable of putting on “Match of The Year” type shit and this match should be no different.

The Grand Finale?

How do you end a great show? You end with the American Dragon Bryan Danielson, of course. Not only will Danielson be wrestling to finish the night, but he will be going up against another Chicago native and Dark Order member, Colt Cabana. The city loves its hometown heroes and Cabana is definitely one of them. The Chicago crowd should be all in on this match. Add in the looming presence of AEW World Champion Hangman Adam Page and his relationship with the Dark Order and Danielson saying he’d “kick the heads in” of every member of the faction, I’m expecting this night to end in all out chaos.

AEW Dynamite never disappoints and this edition should be no different. Being it is the Thanksgiving Eve show, expect Tony Khan to pull out all the stops and deliver an exciting show for his hometown crowd. To top things off, I will be in attendance taking in the action from Wintrust Arena. Be sure to check out some live content on my Twitter @Dominicflisk and as always, #CrackUm.
