This week’s installment of AEW: Dynamite kicked off with the TNT champion, “The American Nightmare” Cody. Sonny Kiss then made his way to the ring accompanied by the Jacksonville Jaguars cheerleaders. Cody is once again continuing his “I’ll take anyone on” attitude for his title. Cody started out strong and tried to end the match quickly. Kiss is being taunted while on the ground, but it wouldn’t be for long. The match went ringside and the tables turned. Two close two-counts by Kiss had Cody fans scared for his title reign to end. Sonny Kiss has been taking an absolute beating, yet he continues to kick out. After back-and-forth brawling, Cody finds an ounce of fight left in him to execute his finisher and win the match. Immediately following the pin, Cody walked up to thank and hug Kiss.

Next, Butcher and Blade and The Lucha Bro’s drive up to the ring in style, in a vehicle owned by FTR. With Butcher and Blade ringside, the Lucha Bro’s were there to face off with FTR in a tag match. With such technical and brawler styles from FTR, them going head-to-head with the high-flying style of the Lucha Bro’s made for a fantastic match. For a good part of the match, it seemed like a tornado tag of sorts with all the in-ring action by all four competitors. In what seemed like a very even match with no clear end in sight, Harwood ripped the mask off of Ray Phoenix and got the pin.

The next match was a six-man tag match featuring Jurassic Express and The Young Bucks with Kenny Omega, The Elite. Nick Jackson and Jungle Boy started the match, but they were so evenly matched that almost everything turned into a counter. A crazy series of events in this match led to all Elite momentum. Luchasauras, Omega, and the rest all exchange blows before a two-count, which still could not end it. A phenomenal match ended with a wild set of moves and a pin by Omega to win it for The Elite.

Following the six-man tag was a four-woman tag. The Nightmare Sisters take on Kenzie Page and MJ Jenkins. The Nightmare Sisters advance their record up to 4-0 in a two-minute match where they were predominantly on offense.

Now for the main event! Jon Moxley took on “The Machine” Brian Cage. The match started early, and it was all Cage until Moxley had an opportunity to take advantage of the freshly healed left bicep. The match then went ringside and even into the stands. Moxley continued to abuse the injured left arm and brought a crowd barricade ringside. That was a poor mistake, as Moxley got sent through the barricade while leaning up against the apron. The match was dangerously close until a final submission involving the left arm once again. Cage’s manager, Taz, threw in the towel before Cage could tap or his arm could snap. Post-match, Cage hit Moxley in the head with the title belt. The lights went out, followed by a return for Darby Allin coming to Moxley's aid while still redeeming himself.
